ANDERS DAMÅS & THE ACRES OF CORN

Relatively fresh as a band, but with years and years of experience!

Drummer, songwriter & singer, Anders Damås,  proudly presents his band The Acres of Corn with the second single from the forthcoming full length album, due to be released later this year. The single, "Strugglin'", is a swingin' blues gem inspired by the West Coast scene with the likes of Kid Ramos, Rick Holmstrom, Junior Watson a.o.

After years of drumming and singing background vocals for other bands and artists (James Harman, Lazy Lester, RJ Mischo and many, many others),
Anders Damås finally took the leap to release his own songs back in 2022.
It started out as a Covid lockdown project where he did all instruments and vocals himself. He got some help producing and co-producing the first two songs on the single which was released as a good old A- and B-side single that included the songs "Empress of The Blues" and "Riding With The Devil".

"I got professional help with mixing and mastering all of my songs.

On the next release, "A Traveller's Story" I felt confident enough
to produce the song myself. I think I got away with it, so I still do."

Anders has never been a solo-instrumentalist, so when his next release called for some outstanding, world class harmonica, he had to call one of his friends, Mr. Arne Fjeld Rasmussen. Arne took his tune "Nightlife (Dracula's Song)" to another level!

His fifth song, "D'Guineafowl Gumbo" also called for some another level musicians. For that song he called his former bandmates Steinar Karlsen, electric barytone guitar and Magnus Østvang, hammond organ and they did not let him down!

Song number six was recorded with the people who later became his band; "The Acres of Corn", Mk 1. They did a great job in the studio on the song "Scarecrow & The Acres of Corn".

These six songs were originally released as singles, but later compiled together for the EP "Scarecrow & The Acres of Corn".

Some changes in the line-up happened peacefully in the summer, 2024.
The new line-up released "The Groupie Song" september 13th the same year.
The same line-up recorded "Strugglin'" in 2025, and now their version of the Chuck Berry classic hit, "Run Rudolph Run". Hope you dig it!
